Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or BJJ, is a martial art based on grappling and ground fighting, focusing on the skill of controlling one’s opponent through techniques that force him or her to submit. BJJ prides itself on being known as “the gentle art”, allowing a smaller, weaker person using leverage and submissions to defend himself against a bigger and larger opponent.

The Burns BJJ System classes are design by one of the most accomplished BJJ instructor teams in the world. Our professors are authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champions and National Champions from Brazil. The program is divided according to the traditional BJJ belt ranking system. The objective of your BJJ training should be to obtain complete mastery of ground control and submissions.

Nogi Grappling program

NoGi, or Grappling, is the ground-fighting martial art focused on joint locks, chokes, and positions. It is the science of using leverage, human body mechanics, balance, and technique to create favorable situations against a live opponent.

Burns BJJ believes that being a well-rounded grappler opens up many opportunities for both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA. Many Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions offer both Gi and NoGi divisions. In MMA, submission grappling is used when the opponent is successfully taken down to the ground. For a fast paced, dynamic and exhilarating workout, submission grappling is definitely the martial art for you.
